Lyallpur
Kaju barfi and peda suspended above a brass plate

Est. 1975 · Ludhiana

Three generations. One recipe book.

Our family carried the flavours of Lyallpur across the border and into a small Ludhiana shop. Fifty years later, the ghee, the patience and the recipes haven't changed.

The founder

“Make it the way you would for your own family.”

In 1975, Late Shri Surinder Kharbanda opened a modest sweet counter in Ludhiana with a brass kadhai, a handful of recipes from Lyallpur and an unshakeable rule: only pure desi ghee, only the finest nuts, and never a shortcut.

Word travelled the way it does in Punjab — from wedding to wedding, festival to festival. By 1995 our paper-thin til gachak had become the winter gift Ludhiana was known for.

Today the third generation runs the kitchen. We have added gift boxes, export packing and a website — but every barfi is still spread by hand on brass trays, every laddu still rolled while warm.
